can i disconnect the ignitor and run a mh lamp in a hps ballest,or will it explode?? i have a 1000watt eye hort convertion bulb(mh/hps)and it came with a hps ballest (ebay)and of corse it was the wrong bulb so i called eye lighting ang they said to diconnect my ignitor and it will work fine,so i did and it does,but now im wondering if i could do that with my 400 hps and run a mh lamp for a vege light.i know there is some wattage and amp differences in the two ballest so befor i go for it i thought id ask.
on second thought...i could just by a conv.bulb for the 400 and not worrie about it. id stii like to know though
