Light power during flower

Hello all,

Quick question hopefully! For the first few weeks is it worth to save money and run the ballasts at a lower watt? Say i have a 1000 watt ballast and I can run it at 50/75/100% or 400/600/1000/Boost would you recommend always running it at full power at the early stages of flower? I was thinking in the middle to end of flower to get through the canopy or tighten everything up it is needed at full power but opinions for the first couple weeks please. :)

Thanks for everyone contribution!

it is not needed for full power but you will effect your yeild a bit. i advise doing full power through all of the flower cycle. i only dim my ballast down on really hot days to bring the temp down.

I think during the stretch it could be a good idea to drop the stretch so much, then after they have stretched go full power, i doubt 600w for the first stage of flowering will affect yield at all, people lolipop their plants at this stage which is similar, you take off all the lower branches/1/3 of the plant during the first 2 weeks of flower, its hard to explain, but say if you dropped it from 1000 to 600 in the last weeks of flowering yeild will be cut short. but if buds dont exist then yeild cannot be lost, if that makes sense.
