light magnification and solar panel power

hello all have any of you thought of or attempted any of the following ideas?


i have been thinking about energy conservation recently due to quantative growing vs electricity bills and that brought up a few questions.. is it possible to magnify a small source of light to increase growth per watt wtithout burning the plants and is stockpiling lets say 30 45W solar panels as hard as it sounds?

You could magnify the light but you will get different 'field of view'. So - if the fixture covers 2ft x 2ft - a magnified fixture might only cover half that area. So - you'd have more energy but in a smaller area.

at $200-300 per ounce is the electricity really a big concern? 1-1/2 oz covers my bill every month.
