Light leaks during flowering?

My question is will light leaks during flowering slow growth down and does it take longer for plants to show sex if a light leak happens? I ask because I believe I had a light leak going on during my plants flowering period. I was playing video games for an hour with the lights on in my room and my plants are in the closet. I start smelling a heavy plant smell so I turn off the lights and put a green flashlight on. To my surprise the plants were all awake(fan leaves pointed up trying to recieve the light). Now i think I know why they haven't showed sex in a week and have been growing slow. I think I fixed it but my above questions still remain.

when you go 12/12 it has to be fucking pitch black dark. i just turned 5 REALLY fat and healthy girls into fucking hermi's!!!!!! the dark the better. if you can find some way to fucking keep the sun from shining at all those of us in flowering would kiss your ass....

It's not, so much, that light leaks "slow down" growth. It's that they prevent the plants from switching to "flower" mode, or cause enough trouble to produce "Hermies".

When it's dark outside, close all your blinds, curtains, whatever - leave your grow lights on - turn off all the other room lights (to make the room as dark as possible. Now, can you see some light leaking out of your grow box? That is exactly how much light is leaking in!

I have the same situation. I grow in a closet in a bedroom and my lights do be on juring the nights so in the day time the room does be bright with the sun coming in the window of the room, and the light was leaks in. It didnt realy seem to affect on my last grow too much they flowered fine and pretty quick too. For my lattest grow i have 2 compartments in the closet 1 for veg and 1 for flower. Both have different light cycles and when the veg light cames on it leaks into the flowering part. So i padded around the 2 doors with paper and insulating tape bloking up any where the light leaks in.

I read before the if the light leaking in is only the equivelant too moon light its ok, and kinda makes sense.

True, dat!
True I was reading that but apparently the moon is only 0.1 Lux or 0.01 Lumens... meaning even a small red "power light" on a power strip or power cord can confuse the plants. I don't really think that would happen but who knows.
