Light Distance and Dimming

Hello,

I have an indoor frost pro 280W in a 4x2 tent...

I am wondering about light dimming and the height of the light for the plants...

If I am starting a grow with seedlings what height should my light be at and also how dim should the light be? How do I increase the light over time on the dimmer or when do I move the light?

I don’t think you will need a dimmer personally. I’m rocking a 2000w in my 3’x3’ tent. I recommend to always refer to the LED manufacturers recommendations. Otherwise I’d say around 12”-18” above seedlings will do. The more light the better. Just watch your plants for tell tale signs of heat stress and play with your height from there. You should be good to go

Well I wanted to know if there was a ppfd for particular plants I have seen people dim there light in veg and then full power in flower so I wanted to know if there was a way to optimize my environment... having temps and humidity in check I suppose is more important then increasing the intensity so should I just make the environment stable?

just hang the light higher. The further away the light is at optimum light levels, the deeper the goldilocks zone of light is

Yes, controlling the temp and humidity throughout the stages of the girls life cycle is absolutely key. I tend to experiment with the distances on my lights being that I’ve noticed almost every strain I’ve grown tends to be a little different from the one before. As silly as it sounds there are plenty of education Vids on YouTube that go more in depth regarding ppfd and recommendations. Good luck my friend! Cheers
