I'm wondering if there's any interest here in having a discussion on preparations of cannabis, particularly hydrocarbon based preparations? I'm not thinking so much tek talk as much as sciency shit.
Some things I'm interested in better understanding:
How terpenes (and which ones at what percentage) might cause auto buddering. For that matter how many ppm of residual solvent might cause the same.
If a section that auto budders and smells better than other sections of a slab is a result of the ruptured cells allowing volatile terpenes to be released more readily, or if it truly has a greater percentage of terpenes.
If allowing trichome degradation and cannabinoid decarboxylation while the plant is alive is necessary, based on analysis.
Understanding the changes in cannabinoid/terpene ratios from flower to preparation and the differences in affects they create.
Any interest in this stuff, or? I'd love to be able to share data and collectively work on better understanding these and other aspects of preparations. It's possible I'm barking up the wrong tree here though.
