Up the back lemon ak auto at 12 weeks and still going in the front 2 chemdog autos just hitting week 9. Having limited space has me growing more autos than I would like but I have grown to enjoy growing them pardon the punn. I can fit 4 good sized autos in a 3/3 so having 2 tents at 8 autos between the two makes for some great yeilds and a constant variety of strains. And I think photoperiod strains are more potent but the autos I've harvested aren't that far behind in potentcy what ive noticed is the high doesnt last quite as long. I guess harvesting at the right time has a large influence on the end product. What's everyone's opinion on autoflowers yay or nay

There alot better and getting better than they once were for sure I do think your right tho I don't find any as potent or as long lasting as photos but when you consider how long we been working autos Vs photos for flower production it's came pretty far pretty fast

I enjoy them. Some certainly hit harder than others I’ve found. There’s even an unofficial study using tryptophan to extend the veg times, giving you the ability to clone autoflowers!

The best thing about them is not being dependent on a light cycle. Meaning you can veg/flower in the same tent saving a couple of weeks!

Also handy for cold grow rooms as you can use HID lighting to provide the heat 24/7 and saves money on a space heater.

I think the higher CBD present in autos provide them with a more ‘stable’ high that doesn’t last as long as photos.

A few strains that hit hard are Mephistos Iced n baked and forgotten cookies. Fastbuds gorilla cookies and Rocbuds Grape Slurri. From my experience.

One last thing is tolerance. Get an alcoholic to drink half a bottle of vodka and they can probably still drive/function fine. Yet for me I’d be spinning and spewing (don’t drink).

So the effect of something is not solely dependant on the product but the individual.

After a wee break my strains hit me much harder than if I smoke them all the time.

Variety is the spice of life!

I totally agree with every point you made, I dont smoke every day due to my job and as an individual I havnt come across an auto strain that hasn't delivered a good high in the last couple of years of growing them. Im in australia but have access to US genetics and I bet the autos I grow would hold their weight against alot of Oz grown weed, well I hope so anyway. Ive had a couple of people who have tried my product who claim they havnt smoked anything like that in 20 years. it's so satisfying to see something you've grown yourself give someone else a memorable experience. Yep I'm a sucker for autos

I've got the two chem dog on a bucket to raise them closer to the light all plants are getting 670 ppfd now, id prefer to leave the light and raise the plants. The lemon ak will probably get harvested in a week which gets them to nearly 100 days tricomes all milk pistils around 70 percent brown to white.

I’ve enjoyed growing autos for many of the reasons mentioned. I’ve grown plenty of photos also and continue to lean towards the autos. Shorter seed to harvest windows are a driving factor based on my travel schedule also.

It’s pretty easy to find the more potent strains of autos with little research. I also think there are too many variables to state simply that photos are more powerful or longer lasting. I’m not really sure I agree. I’ve definitely smoked lots of mid photos that don’t hold up at all against the best auto stuff. Longer lasting? Again, too many variables and varieties. I mean, it’s a minor genetic tweak that they’ve been working with for decades now. Shit’s gotten really good.
