LEDs

Ok I have searched and yet to find a thread, possibly too baked to do it right, so forgive me if this has been covered a million times already. I am getting back into growing my own since moving back to the States. It's been awhile and I have recently discovered the LED idea. Now I am starting out small and am only going to grow a couple of Sativa/Indica blend plants. Has anyone used or have some info on these 45 Watt LED grow lights, they are advertised to actually perform better than a 250 HPS, coverage area of 5 feet and are only like 12'' by 12" in size. I was thinking this might be perfect for a small grow. Any of you Lumens experts have a thumbs up or down on this idea? I like the idea of less electrical usage and they are suppossed to be gobs cooler than HPS. It actually seems perfect for my situation. Almost too perfect....... Hence the paranoia about loosing a couple ladies. Thanks gurus.

LED dont grow shit, unless you have like a million of them, get some CFL's for somthing, if you dont want to go HPS...

^^ What he said. Currently, LEDs cannot compete with the production/cost or return on investment that you will see with a good old fashioned HPS. Perhaps in a few years as the technology becomes more advanced but currently HPS is still the best way to grow quality cannabis indoors.

Thanks guys for the input. As always if something seems too good to be true, it usually is.
