LED vs HPS

New to this site and indoor growing. I have a 7'x7'x9' basement grow area that is flat white painted, mylar on ceiling, and will be using aproximately a 3'x5' area of it for growing initially. I was going to buy a 600 watt HPS setup with an AgroMax bulb but was recently reading about LED lighting, specifically the Gen3 mini Ufo's from HTGS. Anyone have experience with these lights or any thoughts on the comparison of the two? Will be doing a 6-8 plant grow.

That small of an area for a 600w HPS,youll definatly need a good fan,in/outtake system.Im using a 8x8 area & my 150 heats the wholde area up to 106* almost if I don't open the door or open to let some heat out n shut it.If you have air condition,it might not be to bad though.I heard to get a equal yeild led compared to HPS,you need the 300w + some cfls.

Avoid the LED method unless you are using in conjunction with CFL or tubes. About HPS; that would probably be your best bet since LED technology will make your trees get really tall and lanky IMHO.
