Just buy a 600w hps

pros: They use a ok amount of power and give excelent results plus theyll pump out around 93,000 lumens of usable light

cons: They need venitlation , they use more electricity then l.e.d,s

l.e.d.s suck ass !!

Pros: They use next to no energy when on, they have no heat output ,

cons: They suck ass, they wont give ua decent yeild, they are fucking expensive, they dont do a decent job, you will be called a fool if you buy one !

Unless you have the money and expertise to work with LEDs, I would stay away from them. The energy saved isn't worth the cash spent, and they are just difficult to use.

HIDs are the best lights you can get for your plants, but they can be expensive too, they are a pain in the ass to install, and they blow up your energy bill.

Your lighting should depend on your growing situation too. If you have a small/medium size grow box, I would suggest using CFLs. They are a good mediation between HIDs and LEDs They are energy efficient, cheap, easy to install, and provide sufficient light. If you have whole room where you grow, I would probably go with some HIDs though.

what about the led lights that htgsupply sells? they claim a high lumens rate. I know I know... htg is a bitch to deal with but I dont live that far away from them and could pick it up in store - therefore NO problems.

Just looking at the LED prices on htgsupply, I have to say that CFLs or HIDs are the way to go. Unless you have buckets of cash you want to spend, or you are actually researching LED marijuana growth, I would stay away. There is really no point. If you are worried about energy costs, then do CFLs. If you are worried about heat, then get some fans and better ventilation.

HERE is the link for a pretty good Aeroponics LED grow if you are interested, however.
