i was gonna go with 2 of the 240w figured i would cover more area with 2 of them ..but i can also get 1, 500w for about the same price but i would think i wouldnt cover as much area with just one of those... what do you think ?

I love the thought of leds and seeing about of great work done with them but I'm still not sure the time has come to dump 600 into two light panels. I look forward to seeing your results!

I opted for two 180w pro grows over a 260 pro grow. Glad I did, its way more modular. PS - check the wattage drawn from the blackstars and do a bit of research before you pull the trigger on that one. They are most def made in China. Better lights can be found (not on Ebay). Partially completed Hydroponics Hut Pro Grow Series Journal in my signature if you want to check it. Best of luck

I only have direct experience with two companies, LED Wholesalers (ebay operation) and Hydroponics Hut. The 90w UFO I got from LED Wholesalers is a piece, it says it uses bridgelux chips but I seriously doubt it, plus it comes with a mighty 30 day exchange warranty. That doesn't exactly scream reliability. I bought my pro-grows after spending way too much time at the office unplugged from the network, stealing Panera's wireless, and researching leds on this and other sites. Pro Grow seemed like the best option given its actually made in the usa, has a 3 year warranty, and after calling and talking with Brian at hydro hut he seemed like a straight forward guy. Again happy all the way around. I don't own a blackstar, but when researching saw so many people complain about actual wattage consumption and that they were most likely not made in the usa only shipped from the usa it led me to scratch them off my list of companies I would purchase from.

My two Pro Grows replaced 2 air cooled 400w hps lights. I also got rid of a lot of cfl side lighting. Went from running over 1,200w pull to approx. 350w pull. Haven't noticed much of a difference in growth and flowering yet, maybe a tiny bit slower flowering than with hps and at the most 1/10th less harvest at then end, but shit man I'm only using 1/4th the power I was using three months ago. Plus the heat issues were getting to my plants. I'll take that trade off any day of the week.

I am also finding slower flowering under the LED...

In my experience yes the pro grow series is legit, while flowering is a bit slower than hps you're going to find that with any led you purchase. On the plus side trich production, at least in my experience has been far greater than that under HPS.

I saw that they use Bridgelux LED's, but did not see them say the unit is assembled in US. Progrow, not that it matters to many.

Having spoken to Ben the owner of the company many times he was constantly going on about the fact it was made in US and I have never seen anything but the CREE brand on his website.
