Spend your money elsewhere, they do the job but most don't and yield is lower than other lights. Check back in a year.

There are some good LED lights on ebay but if you are talking 15w lights don't even bother. Look up Irishboy grow journals over at 420magazine.com and you will see that good LED lights are as good or better than HID

You at least caught what most miss, most led panels are super low wattage. Therefore worthless. If you want a decent LED it needs to be at least 1 watt per led. I have seen some that claim to be 6 watts per led. The ones that use a 1/15 of a watt per led are not for growing with, regardless of what the seller tries to get you to believe.

It will be cheaper to buy your light from a company based in the US and have it shipped to you than to pay out your ass for £, although I think for most companies they still get their parts from China*

* Just because most of the shitty LEDs come from China, doesn't mean the good LEDs can't as well

I've a bit of research into LEDs and found that anything under 3Watt per led is useless theres alot of different aspects of the LED to look at ie the angle of light, the Watt the Colour and ratio you do need to spend a bit of money on decent LED set up but you'll make your money back in no time due to the energysaving and life of the LEDS

good luck :bigjoint:

Also your research is wrong. Most great LED lights use 2w or 3w LEDs and they usually run at half power to 3/4 power. To say that any LED that runs on less than 3w (which is virtually all of them) is silly. It would be more appropriate to say any LED that runs on less than 1.5w (as most 3w run on 1.5 as well as most 2w lights). Angle of the lens, wavelengths available, and what ratios are important though (huge difference between lights whos only difference is a 60 degree or 120 degree lens)

Figure out what your coverage requirements are ( sq ft), how tall you want to grow the girls and what your budget is... jdizzle is giving you the straight scoop. Lots of good and great lights- lots of crap too- esp on Ebay.
