LED info for those interested.

Everyone keeps wanting to use those UFO lights and etc. Which in my opinion is a waste of money, they only use 1 or 2 watt LED's which don't put out enough light to grow anything with.

If you want to use LED's you are going to need high output LED's to get the brightness you would need to grow.

I found a write up on someone who actually built a high power LED light setup. If you really want to grow you will need to do something similiar and quit screwing around with the low power stuff.

Here it is

Why do the LED manufacturers insist on using small LEDs and not just a few big ones? Did this guy say why he went with the big ones? At this point people would pay a huge premium for a working one.

Going on the offensive against the great commie LED attack?
I don't know, just seems like 20 questions about LED everyday, so if someone wants to really know about what they need when it comes to LED there is the answer, if they want to keep pushing how great the UFO is then that's a whole other thread.

Just trying to help those that are truly interested in LED technology.

I'm so glad you are here to usher us into the LED promised land. We were lost but now we are found.
I'm not trying to usher anyone into anything, just provide helpful information to those interested.

I didn't think providing information on high powered LED's was going to be controversial, I guess just mentioning the word is controversial anymore.

The REAL technological advances of "Photonics" are not seen by the public eye. In private laboratory's and some university, most per dominantly in the east. scientists are pushing optical science to our current understandings limit. Even developing far more advanced forms of Light emission. other than HID or LED. There is a number of laboratory's asking to recruit mathematicians and physics majors into the fast growing field of photonics.
