leaves growing out of top buds? pics

Today I noticed there are small leaves growing out of the top buds on my plants. is this normal or is it revegging because of light leaks or have i been feeding too much nitrogen or something?

4 weeks flowering is just about complete. I also notice that some of the lower buds have brown hairs. wtffffff

My royal medic was getting a lot of leaves and she eats a lot, so I've been feeding her lots of nitrogen, now my other two, which are therapy by cbd crew are getting these leaves on their tops, the medic is a little too. no brown hairs on the medic though but both therapies have them.

I also had two times where the vent flap on my tent was left open for at least 30 mins. I also noticed a calyx that was fat and had a brown hair on it. fuck! can this be an inpregnated calyx?

Doesn't look like reveg growth to me just the buds doing their thing and stacking/growing
stacking growing, like growing more bud sites eh? i told myself that but I got worried. my last grow I had nutrient defeciency really bad and ended up feeding them a lot and they got very leafy. the end bud was mostly leaf. so i'm all paranoid now. though those seeds were awful and from the very beginning the buds were minimal and had hardly any trichs

can you actually explain bud stacking to me please? do they keep growing up ward? like new growth at the top of the colas? which includes leaves?

A couple of things:

Light leaks... I think it's funny how afraid of this people are... paranoid is actually a better word. I could shine the sun(or hyperbole sake) in my grow for idk... some length of time during one dark period.. heck, let's say the whole one whole dark period. They won't re-veg or herm out... If I did it for three dark periods straight they would re-veg. If I did it a few hours a week maybe too... but most like they'd go hermie. Avoiding light leaks is more about maximizing plant growth: the less light the less focus on photosynthesis, the more on development.

Yeah, intense light leaks, a lot of them, or frequent/extended ones will affect your plant because it will get stressed by the confusion.

Too much nitrogen produces nitrogen burn. If too much nitrogen vegged them out, we could just feed more nitrogen... you mean in terms or ratios? I think this would still produce burn over vegging, no? Not sure, but you'll have to post exact numbers for anyone to help there.

You MAY have found a seeded calyx, or not.

As an example: I've had some severe to slight like leaks throughout my current grow. Severe at first, less so over time... but definitely fairly bad even into flower. I can see some right now. Dots. Cracks. Nothing major. The lights in the room the grow box is in (so, the light that is leaking into the box) are 2 20watt cfls, 5500k I think... definitely bright white, not warm white. The lights are on (after the plants dark period) anywhere from 4 hours to the whole time, depending if I sleep or not. I've harvested to plants from this round... so two plants that went through all that (and cold temps, and all other kinds of stresses) and I found one seed, not even fully formed. I'm not sure I would have noticed if I had smoked it.

Its not like the Moon and the stars are not brighter some nights more than others.
Right? You could go blind staring at the moon some nights. I've certainly seen the moon brightening up an area as much as early sunrise, or an overcast day. Which also shows the other side of the coin... I get many overcast days. Like severe overcast. Even with a few days of this my plants don't go to flower... they just don't get as much light, so they get stunted.

Plants that are particularly susceptible to light have natural defense for it, like folding their leaves up at night, so as to block even moonlight from striking the tops of the leaves. So cool.

Question what are your temps at?
well during the day i put them outside, so they are in the full heat of the sunlight. sometimes the leaves get a little curled, but they seem used to it now, don't see curling anymore, haven't noticed it since flowering started. the tops of the plants inside the ten reach 33C or 91F. at night its around 24c or 75F

Thanks man, this reassures me a lot. I think there might have just been some very sparse pollin in the tent from last round (had a hermie) and thats why i found a pregnant calyx. can't be sure though. I killed that hermie early on but there was a few sacs that had burst, and I did not clean the tent before this grow. though the pollin had burst in a different grow box, but in that same bedroom. the tent never actually had a hermie in it now that i think about it

Pollen is insidious. It sticks to EVERYTHING. Now that's something to get paranoid about. Always clean your tent, wash your clothes... hands... heck, take a shower, between contact with a pollinating male and a budding female.

And if you do end up with seeds, save and tag them. If nothing else send them to me... those suckers are EXPENSIVE., and if it's from a hermie they're "feminized" anyway... slightly more chance of also herming out in stress (i hear), but thems the breaks.

hmmm 33c/91f seems a bit high..

you wouldn't want those seeds..the last grow before this was literally the worst grow i've ever done. i got seeds from a friend and the plants were complete shit. barely had any trichs, and so much leaf compared to bud..the cured buds just look like leaf. its hard to find buds in there even. it wasn't my fault either, as these new plants are quite a lot better! though I guess it would be a mix of the two. Seeds are expensive. I'm hoping to leave some buds on these plants when i cut them down and let them go hermie..then harvest those seeds. The therapy seeds were 15 bucks a piece! chresus jist!

Thank you... no one else seems to think that $15 a seed is INSANE! Especially considering how many seeds you can get per plant if taken to seed. I honestly wish I knew how to get into the business (legitimately) as it seems to be the real cannabis cash crop. I prefer seeds to clones myself (generally speaking) and see seeds as an NECESSARY pat of keeping good genestock and variety.

I'd still give those seed a shot, unless your friend's plants were also shit... sometimes it's just the changes in environment pulling out the phenotype in one or another direction. I am a really lucky boy, so I like to gamble (except you know, actual gambling... I only ever dropped one quarter into a slot in Vegas, no dice).

yes i agree! i always say that. the seed industry is one big gaping asshole. They all act like they are proactive and all that , but really they're just capitalists. God damn a real price would be like 15 seeds for 5 bucks or something. That would still be expensive in my book, but considering it's cannabis I'd accept it.

Completely! I appreciate the "guaratee" of quality genetics... but to be honest, I am so dubious as to that... not the quality mind you, just... well https://www.coloradopotguide.com/colorado-marijuana-blog/2015/june/28/the-history-of-naming-weed-strains/ (where the gist is: "Some strain names, such as OG Kush and Northern Lights, have such powerful connotations that they're applied very liberally or used to describe general properties that pop up in multiple strains. They might even be appropriated by growers and distributors whose products are far inferior to the original strain.") and when you consider phenotypes strains/strain stability seems almost a myth.

Ding ding ding lol you can get extended hairs and leafy bud along with airy from high temps. Plant has to open up to breath more used to get bud looking like that when I first started growing it'll still be good bud just fluffy
