not the fan leafs... like the bud leafs...and this isnt for sale personal use only lol but yeah... during the drying does it hav any effect with the taste of em, if u leave them or not.... like i think sniping them might make it a little easier... once there all dryed out... but if it going to loose flavor.....

what u guys say...
leave the leaf
trim the leafs
or doesnt it matter?

trimming the small bud leaves while plant is freshly harvested is easier than doing it after you've dried the buds. once dry, the leaves curl up along the buds and are hard to get at. plus, if left on, it makes the buds look like shit. trim all fan leaves and bud leaves, leaving only clean nugs before you hang to dry. make hash out of the trim :) good luck...

-Add the bud candy into a half a gallon water jug and shake it good. If you are using any flavor enhancer the flavor will be stronger.

-DJ Short mentions keeping the light further away from the plant to get better flavors. Another book states the plant stretches 3 weeks, flowers 3 weeks, then ripens 3 weeks. You could raise the light for the last 2 weeks during the flush and use the MH bulb which would ripen the buds tighter. Although the lumens will be lower the buds are mostly putting on weight and swelling.

-Flushing the medium for 2 weeks instead of 1 improves taste. You could just add the bud candy to the ph water for the first week of flush and then filtered ph water for the last week.

-Leave the buds on the stem for drying. I'd take the fan leaves off and trim/separate the sugar leaves for quick dry and butter making at 1 oz to 5 sticks unsalted. You could make an S shape out of large paperclips and hang the colas on wooden dowels punched through a cardboard box. The box will contain the smell a little and absorb some moisture. You can dry the loose buds on the bottom or a separate little box. Once the stems can snap in the buds. Trim them to desired size and put in glass jars with a little space at the top. Let the air exchange daily. If they start to get too dry which I prefer, you can then place a fresh leaf in the jar till it wilts. This will hydrate all of the buds ever so slightly. Then once the buds get to a flavor you like probably in 3 weeks, put the jars in the fridge if you'd like. Make sure they are dry enough and check them for little white spots (mold) by eyes and nose. If you go over 2-3 weeks the buds will start to turn brown because the chlorophyll is breaking down. It should be mellow enough with a 2 week flush and do it every several days at a minimum. People like greener weed, but not tasting like chlorophyll and phosphorus.

- If you make the butter put a metal bowl on top of a pot boiling water. melt the butter in the metal bowl and add the ganja. let it boil for 45-60 minutes. remove the hot bowl and let it cool enough to pour it through a strainer or cheese cloth. if using cheese cloth and it is warm, it will be really hot when you squeeze it and you will be covered in hot butter. by keeping the water and butter separate, you don't need to let it freeze to separate. if you make cookies you will be able to taste the weed flavor and not chlorophyll since you flushed it for 2+ weeks
