I usually just leave the roots on but I dont have dirt to deal with dirt. I read most growers prefer to cut it at the base. I feel the least cuts before drying the better to help slow the dry. If you uproot it remember to wrap the remaining roots in a grocery bag or something to keep the dirt contained. My last harvest I cut at the base because I wanted to put it in a glass of water like a rose for a couple days before harvest. I heard its a really good way to flush so I had to try. Its still drying so I dunno how its going to turn out. I tried not flushing last time and I prefer flushed it burns better.
But yeah anyway.. id say leave the roots if its not a problem.
