L@@K 1st grow couple questions before I Start

do you have neibours around you? If so I don't think it's a good idea to have your 1000 watt going where ppl can see in your window. But if not, just put a fan in the window and blow air towards the plants and another osilating fan going on your plants, you should be fine, it would really help if you could blow the air right across the top of the plants, so you can keep the light as close to the canopy as possible, so it's not so hot.
I'm not fimilar with Royal gold so I can't tell ya, but adding perlite is a good idea.
any soil that has peat moss, perlit, and the vicurlimate, can't remember the spelling, something like that, but any soil that has these 3 things in it is a pretty good soil.
