killer deal, help me set up

ok so, I was going to buy my light either 600w or 1000w from htgsupply then I came across a thread on here and someone said "check you local craigslist" ...to whoever said that THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I just scored 1 1000w hps hydro farm, 1 400w hps 1 250w hps and 1 100w hps all with bulbs and reflectors wired and ready to go for a grand total of............$300. sweet huh.

now....how could I best utilize these with a soil set up SOG grow? Im not doing more then 5 plants flowering at once cause of law.
my flowering room I figure at 4x4x8. I guess I could use the 1k in there and maybe the 100 or 250 for veg? my problem is I dont think all the reflectors have air cooling, but I have a window unit AC that keep my room fridged durring summer, the 4x4x8 room would be within my 10x10 room with the AC would this be good enough to keep the temps down?

ya a ton of planing, im so excited though, my first grow with REAL lights.....im not 100% but I think these lights served the same purpose with the previous owner also lol.

your plan sounds good

i would use the 1000 watter for hps and add the 400 watt and put a mh bulb in it. Use both of those for flowering

and i would use the 250 and the 100 for vegging

and if you are going with only 5 plants...

i would just let those plants turn into monster bushes so you can yield more

ya Im a patient person, I was gonna go with longer veg times, looking to grow big bushes, Im starting to think 4x4 is too small and maybe 6x6 is better? idk this is my first time growing something not with cfl's and not in a 32x32 inch space , so its a whole new world to me, and I def. dont know the first thing about ventilation for these hot ass lights, thats why im wondering if maybe my AC will cut it. idk any help or sugggestions is much appreciated.


i dont think they can fit MH's only HPS...they are not e-ballasts just the regular ones, and the 1k has a air coolled hood, the other dont.

doesnt matter if its eballast or not

they make conversion bulbs for hps only ballast and mh only ballast

in my humble opinion, you will want a cooltube for that 1000 watter. you will want to exhaust all that hot air from the bulb OUT of the grow room


i have a window a/c that i bought JUST for the 1000 and sometimes its still hot in here... but it works out

scratch that, i would recommend cool tubes for all HID lighting, not just 1000watters
