keeping clones the same size???

how does one go about keeping clones taken at diff times about the same size until they can all be put on a veg cycle at the same time to help keep an even canopy.

first idea, plant them all in the same size small pots as they root and dont transplant until all clones have rooted

vertical side lighting only will help to slow stretching on the older ones the smaller ones will catch up also defoliating the bigger ones will force them to grow branches more than stretching up.
you could just grow with a vertical light and run a perpetual grow just have your plants around the light the different heights wouldn't mater you could harvest a new plant every week or two.

I good way is to store all your cuttings in the fridge they can keep for more than a month in stasis till you have enough for your run.

Just put them in a big zip lock bag with a few drops of water open the bag or wrap the stem in wet paper once in a while open the bag to exchange air.

Then when you have more than you need recut the stem and root them all at once.
