Kai's First Grow (single plant started from seed)

So, i started my first official grow today. Most people germinate their seeds before planting in soil or medium, but i have had much better luck placing the seed right in the growing material and leaving it in the grow light 24/7 to start the seedling. I found that out doing a test just to see germination versus direct planting. As for my setup, i can explain my simple, almost ghetto grow box.

It's a cabinet with a double door on the front, about 2 and 1/2 feet tall, and 2 1/2 feet wide by 2 feet deep. The top is removable as well, but later in the grow the light may be there. The lighting, for now, is a single 23 w CFL. Later i may add more CFLs, but i am only using CFLs for this grow. if i haven't made it clear, i am starting with one plant from a seed. if it work, i may add another. Also, although it's random, i do have another single outdoor plant that is about 2 and 1/2 feet tall right now, and looking healthy. If this from seed shit don't work I'm just going to clone from that plant just in case i would lose it before the harvest. Anyway, back to this plant. What it's growing in...Well, i took a 2 liter bottle, chopped the top, turned it upside down, took six lengths of yarn and put them through a hole in the cap then spiderwebbed them in the soil. These will provide a constant source of water for now, even though I will be watering myself too. This plant isn't going to be growing too big, more like a low fatt bush, so i shouldn't need to transplant at all, but if i do...well, hopefully that shit works out. Inside the grow box is smooth tinfoil to reflect light all around the plant as it grows, but the whole inside isn't covered with the stuf...Just some on the roof and the floor, more to be added to walls and maybe door as plant grows bigger.

As a side note, i'm actually germinating 7 more seeds using the bowl and plate method. These may be used inside, or planted outdoors for the fuck of it. Just plant them in a safe spot, watch them for a month, then leave 'em till harvest in OCtober...where i live first frost comes around halloween unfortunately, which is why i choose to indoor grow dispite it's risks in my state...

Anyway, more later today.
