Hello so this is my very first grow, and i am doing it indoors in a 8'x4'x7' grow tent (model "growlab 120l") i have two 600W HPS lamps that are on a 18 up and 6 hour down cycle, and i just transplanted 12, 3 week old clones each into a 5 gallon container with "Lucky dog" soil. I don't want to put the clones into shock and need to know how much i should water them. so far i watered them enough so that when i put my palm against the top of the soil of each container it is mildly moist. Keep in mind that this soil is very dry originally and is in a 5 gallon container. should i Water them more? should it be very moist throughout the whole bucket or should it only be very moist around around the clone? please help! I DONT WANT TO LOSE ANY OF MY BABIES!

I always water until the pot is heavy. remember, you want your new roots to "search out" the water and grow.

The initial "watering in" at transplant is the MOST important step in potting new clones. Soak the medium thoroughly before and after planting to ensure that there is good contact between the new roots and the medium. I was the president of a compassion group for a couple of years and produced between 80 and 150 plants per month to give to members and as I said the initial watering was the most crucial step. Also give them lower light (farther away inside or in the shade outside) for 2 - 3 days to allow new root growth to get established before putting them to work in earnest. Good luck and Happy Growing. :weed:

Thank you so much for the help! so i ended up watering them with 6.5PH water and used about 4 cups full for each pot. i wouldn't say that the pots were extremely heavy by any means, but they were moderately wet. also, i am waiting to start my nutrients till next week. is that correct?
