Just saying hello and looking for strain/seed/breeder advice.

I've had a account on here for years and have been a lurker on and off for years but haven't grown any buds in a long time (up until this past year) and have only had a few grows in my whole life... Nothing spectacular or remarkable .

Now that I am a bit older (and hopefully wiser) and have a little bit of money to spend and a bit more experience gardening (vegetables etc. and cacti) I'm trying to make a real effort to get a good grow (or handful of grows) under my belt.

I have to main things I'm wondering... One is suggestions for strains or reputable breeders. I know , from years ago, a handful of breeders purported to be reputable and recently ordered a few pic n mix from serious seeds. White russian, chronic and ak47. I also got 2 blue dream from hso and 2 critical kush from barneys farm (along with freebies). I also got a few pandora auto flowers going about 10 days ago which are just working on their 2d set of leaves....

Any ideas for strains would be much appreciated and welcome...

The other main thing I'm wondering is the general ethos ad rules of this forum. After looking through may forums related to this subject recently this one has stood out as being possibly the most down to earth and (maybe i have his wrong) maybe most active forums around right now... So how do things work here? Do we have alot of veteran growers and breeders? Are we allowed to swap pollen/seeds (does pollen even stay viable for long once harvested?).

I may start a grow diary of sorts if I have the time ad hopefully ca solicit some information to help me along...

It seems like we did the same thing. I too recently rejoined and found that the whole strain scene has exploded in last few years. So many breeders and hybrids these days.. what you have is enough to get you started, meanwhile you can check out the seed and strain thread, there's some fire being grown left and right.

What kind of lighting are you thinking to go with? How big of an area?

Bonza seeds and Nirvana (which is available through Bonza) has always worked spectacular for me. Bonza isn't a breeder, they're just a 'middle-man' to connect you to good seed breeders. You really cannot go wrong with Bomb Seeds and Nirvana either through Bonza or directly through their website.

seed wise i've only bought from GYO which carries various seed banks. currently growing strawberry coughs from dutch passion i believe? it's in my grow journal in my sig if you want to check it out my first seeds from them. grew some GYO brand blue widows currently in flowering no issues there either.

as far as swapping seeds/pollen i would highly assume if you work something out with another grower on her via a conversation ( private chat type thing ) and not open like on a thread it would be fine but usually if your advertising for stuff like that on a thread most forums will shut it down. seen many people on other forums trying to sell their old lights and i get it that it's easiest to sell on forums due to the nature of the hobby and all that but i guess the company doesn't want to be liable or held accountable for any issues if something goes wrong.

start a journal it's worth it imo. just started my first one. if people are interested they will look at it. can see what other people are doing and me personally i like to view journals just to see what other growers do and what i can do to better my grow and maybe get on their levels of growing as well. i update mine daily for those who want to see that daily transitioning of the growth if not they can feel free to skip a few pics and look a week later or w.e. instead of just updating on a weekly basis like some do. that way you get the freedom to do one or the other for those who like shorter journals or just want to see end result or w.e.
