just planted my seed, do i need light yet?

Since I assume yer planted in soil, I Used my Lights very close to the soil maybe a few inches away to give off a little warmth and help speed growth (Fluorescent)
and then kept the light a few inches away throught veg.

no, in fact the seed requires darkness to germinate. once it sprouts it requires light. so you can get away with darkness for a couple days.

I planted mine and immediatly placed them directly under a small flouresant. Then after they were about 5 inches tall I placed them under a 400 watt HPS.

leave them in the dark until the seed has popped up thru the soil.
