Just germed quick question

I just germed some seeds w/ the paper towel method, my question is: How long should the taproot be sprouting from the seeds when i move into their first medium?

As soon as they have sprouted is best the longer the tap root the more chance of breaking it. And they also tend to curl as they get long so pot as soon as you can.
