Judge my plant

Hi RIU, I could use your input! I'm about 2-3 weeks into flower, and the plants mostly okay. Just got long & thin new growth canoeing down, and thinner fan leaves at the top. Bud sites are apparent but trich production hasn't started yet. The claw is also present on older growth especially fan leaves, a few of them have a little downwards canoe towards the end, like in the pic.

Soil is african violet MG in 5 gal pot, still feeding with plain ph'd water with 100 ppm because of tap though I'll probably start feeding with this dynagro bloom fert I decided to try (I heard good things) as I think I don't have to worry about the time release ferts as much now. Lights are a 100w blackstar led ufo and 65w warm colored cfl. Air circulation is poor and I'm still working on it. If I'm missing anything or if the pics aren't good enough let me know.

Just one question, do I only use cal mag when the plant shows deficiency signs, or use it regularly like other feed?

nice start, buddy. ;) Look at how the leaves are pointing up, this is great if you have vertical light.! You are doing a damn fine job and you will be a master! Keep that light flowing, your ground-work looks great, air flow is a must!! Judge?

You get a 9 out of 10 rating. :) ..you might be over watering just a smidge.. Don't worry too much about the THC yet, the sativa flowers are growing, they usually take about 8-9 weeks for that one, i would guess. it will juicy-up, me thinks!

you might want the lights a little bit closer...

ps, thanks for turning off the LED, it makes the pics look weird as heck. I would give karma if i had any left. pss.. put a couple more plants in there next time. ;)

looks good!
i have a bit of clawing on my leaves too but i havent had any problems with that.
if your stems get weak and your plant goes DARK DARK green, almost black, then i would worry but she looks good!
keep up the good work :)

Thanks for the feedback psi. Great to hear! Over watering is a possibillty, it's in a basement so the soil doesn't dry fast. I only water when the top inch or so is dry though.

That led sure does mess with the eyes though, just had to turn it off ;)

@nova thanks for the opinion. I get clawing almost every time so far but its always limited. Still makes me wonder though!

Yea seems pretty good to me, you don't want dark green color, when you see that back up a little your nutes, your soil must be a little hot that's why you see the claw and your purple stems which usually indicate nitogen toxicity, have patience and you will be fine +rep for your effort so on.

looks good! clawing of leaves usually comes from over watering and or heat issues IMO atleast from my experience... much love

lay off the nitro a bit. start pushing the potassium . only thing I see starting to get the claw. also there aiming straight up looking for light. put that light as close as possible and add more.

I'm with Elfood. You have that big cola developing, and then the bottom 3 or so branches down there. Unless you got lights on the side of the plant... I'd cut those off. Let your girl put her energy in developing that top cluster of buds. Once the top fills out more it will cut the light to the lower branches. Accentuate the positive... eliminate the negative. My two cents.

the " claw " is a N tox bottom taco's down
over watering tips of leaves curl down/ under

it still looks like its in early flower you could tie the main stalk down a little or to one side to promote the lowers growth a bit instead of chopping them off

Isn't that LST? I don't think I can manage that.

That's not a bad idea, I'm afraid to cut off fan leaves though. It seems to always be debated on growing forums if it's a good idea. But then, those ones would only get used if I did a partial harvest, and I guess the bud leaves will do just fine there.

I was playing with how I used the lighting with the LED close to the top and the cfl down on a side. But I guess I'll keep them both at the top for the cola and prune the bottom..

Looking good. Buy an inexpensive soil NPK test kit (ebay $13) and u'll take the guess work out of what she needs or has too much of. My guess is ur soil is high in nitrogen causing clawing.

I found a cheap moisture probe for soil at Home Depot.
As you pull it up you can see the meter drop, it also has a basic light meter and PH meter, there is a three position switch for each function.
It is very very handy in situations like a basement or for us Noobs. The PH and Light are very simple but it's great at telling dampness.
I use it in rock wool to!
