Hi Guys !!

Ok, so we've all been there and bought the book. My question to you is:- Who really knows their stuff? Who out of these two do you prefer and why ?

I'm in Spain and I've read and followed his (Cervantes) book to do my first grow. Which turned out fantastic (pics in my album or it didn't happen!)

Maybe you haven't followed/ read a grow book???

Ed was King back in his days with Mel , but with time I think he lost it a bit .. Ed's Oaksterdam Book sucks ass and holds no comparison to Georges work .. Might note as well that his Closet Culitavator book was a bad news bear bomb .. Worst book of his day ...

I liked Mel Franks work much more than Eds ..

^ Jorge Cervantes is a god
jorge is an idiot imvho.. i have a very good feeling the dudes never grown tomato's, let alone cannabis.. it's pretty evident if you really look at some of the stuff he says..
also, all of his grow room setups are for other peoples grows, not once have i ever seen a pix of a plant grown from jorge.. jorge takes his quasi celeb status to gain access to very private grow rooms and breeders and asks a ton of questions and uses that info for his books and videos, simple as that..
ed rosenthal on the other hand has obviously grown.. it's not even a fair comparison between the two imo.. ed wins hands down all day every day..

and not sure if people were being serious saying look at ed rosenthal bud vs jorges diamonds or not as i'm sure neither of them had thing one to do with either strain other then the names.. that's be like saying jack herer is responsible for the infamous jack herer bud.. :wall

while the grow books were fun, and back in the day quite helpful when there was no interwebz
a great deal of those books were unhelpful and very outdated even then, i can safely say from reading some of jorges books he knows very little about hydroponics
the hydro sections in jorges books were very poor, the guy is away with the fairies to be honest, too much acid in the 60s no doubt
and he is also responsible for many of the myths we still hear today quoted so passionately from newbies
i do not think ed is hugely better, but still i would think ed would know which end of a nutrient meter to place in the solution , not so sure about jorge lol

racer boy i can safely say i was guilty of sarcasm with my superbud comment lol , although i cant speak for the jorge fan i think he was playing too

Jorge is like the title of his bestseller suggests, the BIBLE of growing. Everyone else is chopped liver, eh?

BigSteve.

PS -- Us Cervantes fans need to remember that most of his most famous works are more than a decade old.
There is always new information coming into our marketplace and I reccomend memorizing Jorge's "Bible" and
surfing here for new shit.

I've never bought/read a grow book and I have no intention to.
you are a lucky man
i wish i could un-read most of the nonsense from those books however in the late 80s early 90s without the internet and only sunlight systems for supplies etc there was little else for basic information, even the grow books could only be bought in the city in certain shops like hmv etc LOL

I was up in the mountains today at a grow friends house. They follow Ed and have lent me their book. They're coco growers and I use soil. They think he's 'The Man' but I'm not so sure.

When I acquired my very first plants in 94 I had no choice but the books. The books were very helpful for a beginner, but the best knowledge I found came from hanging out at the hydro store. And in 1994, in Southern Cal, there were all of like 3 hydro stores. :)

I have read both of em, I think Ed Rosenthal is more knowledgable about cannabis itself, Jorge only relay the informations from other growers. Peace.

Read em and glean info..check the net and videos. Find what applies to you then double check it. Most folks end up with a personal style.
