I would like to say the pros and cons of adding tobacco to a joint. These are the pros of cons in adding an additive free tobacco to a joint. This is not talking about shitty cigarette additive shit that shouldn't be called tobacco. I am not encouraging the use of tobacco, just weighing pros and cons.

Pros>
* Burns extremely smooth, and even.
* Tobacco burns at a lower temp than weed so it increases vaporization.
* Small amounts of tobacco can be good http://sorendreier.com/tobacco-a-forgotten-healing-plant/.
* Stays lit longer/less re-lighting.
* Adds a spicy taste to the joint (good tobacco) that mixes well with some strains.
* Joints become less resiny at the end.
* If you do not smoke cigarettes, The right amount of nicotine can add a relaxing effect to the high.
* can be more discreet if you smoke in public.

cons>
* Addictive.
* Too much nicotine can make you feel uneasy.
* Makes the area you smoke in smell like tobacco.

All the pros youve given to mixing with tobacco making me think youve never come across propperly grown and cured bud. My flowers smoke smoother thanb tobacco, im not joking. But smoking flowers is for peasants anyways, its the same as eating raw wheat when you can eat bread. Smoke extracts.

And here I was under the impression that the big diff between a joint and a spliff was the wrapper. Joint - rolling papers
Spliff - corn husk
Whither the tobacco??

I like the taste of bud. So I'd rather smoke it plain. If I'm going somewhere where that smell isn't appreciated I'll mix with tobacco to cut down smell. I'm a smoker and I hate cigarettes

Only ever used tobacco for rolling hash joints and oil.

I wonder, in high school we used to get pot oil all the time and everybody used to just scoop out of a vial and "paint" up a paper with the oil then sprinkle the tobacco in and roll 'er up.

That worked okay for two or three people splitting a joint, but for groups bigger than four... well... had to roll a lot of joints. So I came up with a new method and called it the "ZIXXER." That was back in the 80s and after having smoked all over the place I have never seen anybody else do it, anywhere.

What I did was heat the vial a bit and pour a bit out on top of a tobacco can lid. I sprinkled a bit of tobacco on top of that little puddle, heated the underside of the tobacco can lid and then mixed the tobacco around in the oil. Once the tobacco soaked up all the oil I just rolled up the sticky shit and popped a filter in the end. And viola! The ZIXXER was born. I've passed that method on to BC, ONT, Amsterdam, Nova Scotia...

Anyway, the ZIXXER burns for a long time and is great for large groups!

You're welcome...lol

This one kid way back put tobacco in a joint and I couldn't smoke it it tasted like shit and pretty harsh. I was never able to inhale as much smoke from a cigarette as even the worst Mexican brick.
