So, I've had no problems planting the original Fem Northern Lights I got from Nirvana. All of them sprouting fine.
Well I had some seeds from a plant that hermied a while back, and wanted to see if I could get some nice plants from them instead of ordering new seeds. The seeds had been drying out for weeks, and have stored them in the fridge for a time.
My procedure for preparing my seeds the day before, was just letting them sit in a shot glass of water for about 12-24 hours. This is the same thing I have always done.
The first round I planted 4 seeds, and only 1 sprouted. The second round I planted 4 seeds and NONE of them sprouted. Wow.
So next time, I planted 3 more. This time, I put about a pin dab of peroxide in that shot glass. It was much less than a droplet. This was not much, but I could see the oxygen bubbles forming around the seeds as they soaked.
I also put my dixie paper cups full of my soil in the microwave for about 3 minutes. Hoping to kill any fungus or things that may be contaminating my soil?!?
After letting all this settle down, I planted those 3 seeds as usual, and all 3 of them popped and are on their way!
Just thought I would share since I found it weird to have that many seeds not pop on me. Although that could all have just been a coincidence and I may have done something wrong when I planted those first 8? And I've never had so many consecutive seeds not sprout before.
