5'x5'x7' will have white walls and 400 watt HPS... How many plants do you all think i can cram in there will still maximizing growth?

with a 4x4 you need a 600 or a 1000. I use a 3x3 for my 400.

i forgot to add i'm putting in a 4 foot track for the light, and i'm a big guy so i wanted some room to move around in side while tinkering around so the actual width of viable growth light will be 3x4ft right?

3x4 will be fine if you have a light mover.

Dude, you should just invest the extra 50 bux and get a 600watter. scrap the light mover. besides that you are doing great. You may want to extend it a little if you are using a 4x4 tray to give it some room.
In that you could fit a lot of plants if you keep them small. I fit 9 in a space like that and it was nice. Grow them to about 2 feet and put 9 in there with a 600watter and you will get a pound probably.
you could do more smaller ones too. I am doing 16 plants in the same size now. I don't have all the sites filled but 16 could easy fit in there and each has a dirpper. I am flowering them at a foot tall and see how that does. If it doesn't fill the room properly I will start to grow them to a foot and a half.
If is all about seeing how the strain does. The first time should be a test and be able to grow enough to keep you smoking for 2 months. Then the second go around you will know how big the plants will get and how well they fill out the space. You can play around with plant size and numbers a little. The second go around things will be more dialed in and you should get a lot better yeild. After that you should have some bud to smoke and some to get rid of to get some more equipment. Get a co2 tank and regulator and controller. Then that time you will harvest the most and you electric should be paid for from the last crop. Then you are just getting pure profit and free smoke. Probably 1 out of every 2 or 3 crops would go to rent and electric and you set;
Then it would just be about expanding and getting more lites and a bigger place. Then to take over the world. hahaaha

Haha I like your thinking.
I would like to have gone with a 600 watt hps, but with my veg and soon to be clone room running a 200 watt MH (once I upgrade),and some floros. Then once the bud room is finished Ill be running two squirrel cage fans and a scrubber. My electric bill is maxed I have to keep the bill fairly unnoticeable for other reasons out of my control.
I have already bought the 400 watt hps lamp set up also
and like you said this is my trail error stage (thumb in mouth stage) once I tinker a little bit and I do not get the results I expect I will more than likely upgrade. But if I figure something out and it works I can take over the world!

thanks... I hope so, i'm N2DEEP now for any thing less than success.my intial setup cost is getting less and less now which is a good thing.
