It doesn't smelll like chronic...

I finally had my first soil harvest. However i'm a bit disappointed.

During the flowering period, there was a pungeant chronic smell which made me feel good about the plant. Lots of crystals all over the place.

However, now that i cut it down and hung it in a dark ventilated area... it doesn't smell like chronic.

Why?

i still have a couple days to go for drying but it doesn't smell anything like chronic.

comments/suggestions?

as long as the smoke and high are good thats all that matters!i mean if it smelt like chronic and was weak as shit then youd really have something to be dissapointed about!when its ready to blaze it might smell how you want but if it dont dont worry about it.

It will smell pretty much like hay for a while. once you get it all dried and cured it will smell nice and Dank

Mine were the same, if I break them apart alittle they smell awesom, but after being in a sealed jar for a few days they smell like crappy mersh, but like mrskitz said, it the buzz that counts. If being pretty really mattered everyone would leave their plants in the cold to turn them purple.

sooo... does all chronic lose it's smell in the first few days of drying? Or would u say that most of the time it retains its smell throughout the drying process?

Update:

Well... 7 days passed and the bud is now dry.

Tell you what.. this looks like some of the dankest shit ever! It is lime green and has crystals all over the place!!!

However, it smells like HAY. When I squeeze it, I get a good chronic smell.

Now.. The smoke?

I'm perplexed.

Is it possible to have crystals all over the place? Lime green with red hair? No smell unless squeezed? And absolutely NO HIGH???????

I dryed it by hanging it in a box ... put a lid over it and left some space for airflow. Did I flush it? sorta... the last couple of days.

as said above did u cure it after u dried it out. if u squeze it and it smells good. put it in a plastic jiffy bag and put that one inside a brown bag. leave and check every couple of hours to check for mould(mouldy aint good : (.). if that don't do it. i wud start again. peace bro. ; )

did you harvest the bud early? if so then that's the problum

I harvested the bud 60 days after flowering.. there were orange hairs on the bud.

Update:

hey u guys. maybe i harvested too early....

I think it was 25% covered with orange hairs instead of 50%.

oh well.. second batch on its way ! ! !
