Depends on how big you let it get and the wattage of the lights. If you repot it at some point add some perlite or something for drainage.
Roots need oxygen, perlite allows the soil to dry sooner after watering and stops it from becoming compacted. The roots need a wet/dry cycle. Over watering or having wet soil all the time is probably the most common mistake newer growers make.

No. Soil can be dry on top but soaked under drowning roots. The easy way is to get a moister meter (10$) or only water when the container feels light.

Don't forget to dick punch your friend or mate or whatever you call him and welcome to growing keep a journal it will help you in the long run from making the same mistakes twice ...that's if you plan to stick with this new found hobby of growing ....GL
