Is this mold?

mold or not? And what to do about it if so

Spray with 6% H2O2 to be safe. Just wet the surface. looks like fungus after magnifying.

will this hurt the plants? I will take care of it asap but don't have peroxide on hand currently

Is that your soil? If it is, its good!

No harm. Spray soil surface as well. And clean grow area. Just water after a few minutes. Don't spray the leaves with it.

H2O2 becomes water. Not water the plant. My bad.

It might be a beneficial fungi, but if you want it gone spray down the outside of the pot with 3% H2O2.

@ OP: With that said, H202 solution is not harmful. People use H202 to kill/prevent PM, add it to their water or rez before giving to plants etc. You dont want to give straight up H202, but a dilution of it is perfectly safe and even good for the plant.

If your worried about it, hit it with the H202 solution. If it were me, id leave it unless it started to turn a color other than white
