Alright still my first Hydro grow. grown with soil before, but never seen this before. Im about 2 weeks in with her (SLH). my PH hovers 6-6.5 and i only adjust it every other day tops but check it when i wakeup and before bed. using CFL's. i am using GH hardwater micro. all nutes were measured 1/4 tsp or tblsp w.e per gallon. not a really techincal person. i followed the bottle. havent added any since the first time (1 week old). i looked around and it seems like its Mg but idk for sure. i have the h1n1 virus atm so its a bitch to care for the plants and myself at this point lol. but i was kind enough to wash my hands before handling them lol. any help is apprecitated. thanks!

Hi there,

Good diagnosis, what you have here is a Calcium and Magnesium deficiency, the two normally occur at the same time. The calcium deficiency attacks the inner part of the leaves, and the magnesium deficiency attacks the outer part of the leaves, for a double whammy.

These two deficiencies will also stunt the growth of your plant quite significantly, they can also kill the plant if the problem is not corrected.

The best way to cure the problem is to get some Botannicare Cal-Mag solution and add it to your reservoir. If you don't have any you can try using Epsom Salts as a temporary fix. It has been my experience that Epsom Salts should not be used as a permanent fix because it never worked all that well when I used them.

You should try to address the problem as quickly as possible because these deficiencies can and do spread like wild fire once they get going.

Hope this helps.

what ph are you running, what is the ppm of your tap water, and nute line you are using? sometimes you can have too much calcium that leads to lockouts if your tap is over 220 ppm and using heavy nutes.

you need to find out the ec or ppm of ur tap water because your using hard water nutes which means it has low level of cal mag, if ur tap water is soft you need to add some cal mag to ur mix, next time before you buy hard water nutes make sure ur water is hard... or just add cal-mag to ur mix...

nordowell.... read the OP.....
