Is this A magnesium problem? If so am I screwed?

So this perticular plant is only about two weeks since it broke soil.. At first the leaves had some wierd growth patterns but I hoped it would grow out of it. Then the new leaves started comin in normal when the cotyledons and the first single blade leaves started to yellow out and now eventually brown up at the tips. Also this morning I could see the cotyledons are dead and the first set tips are somewhat curling up. I fed it a small feeding of 6.5 ph bal water w calimagic. This is a fem ak48 and The plant is currently in ffof with a mars hydro 300w plus 4 23w cfls till my new cob led comes.. So.. Any thoughts? Is it the mag? And if so is this plant screwed since it's so young?

you're fine, remove those two leaves when they no longer function. water only when dirt in the bottom of the cup is drying out, and transplant into larger container when dirt plug is on the drier side.

they likely will yellow, dry up and be shed naturally. if they dont fall off with a touch leave them alone.

On a side note fill your containers more. The plant looks deep in that cup. +1 to what Chiqi said let them fall off on their own.

Tbh I rekon it’s had too many nutes, no nutes just water, what soil is it in? It’s a baby remember, that soil probably has enough in it for the plant already!

It's in ffof right now and have given it nothing except some calmag in the last watering. Think it could be from that?

Not an issue to just add some to fill it in? Just wanna make sure it's ok to bury the it a half inch or so...

One option: It would be fine, bury it right up to the neck, with MOIST soil....To get MOIST soil, fill an empty cup with soil, soak it, then wring it out with your hands, like making a snowball.... When you squeeze a handful of soil, maybe one drop should come out.....
The only reason I say to moisten, is FFOF can be tricky to water the first time....

FFOF is a pretty well fed mix, some would argue its too "hot" for seedlings or clones, others plant directly in to FFOF from seed without issues....Kinda in a grey area there.....
Seedlings REQUIRE very little water, most seedling issues IMO, appear to be the direct result of over watering. For every 1 seedling that dies from "drought" , hundreds and hundreds are murdered by drowning.....Roots need to be able to exchange gasses in the growing medium. During the seedling stage the "plant" can only suck up tiny bits of moisture from the soil. Slow root growth happens in wet soil.....

I always have the mindset of growing "roots" instead of a plant.....
Healthy roots will produce healthy stems, and healthy leaves, combined those systems are a Healthy Plant!

Since I got that unsolicited lecture out of the way, I can also mention, that I've had seedlings look way, WAY, worse than that one, end up taking off ....way yellower, shriveled up....twisted messes.

now why would you ever add calmag to soil, a charged soil, and to a seedling

yes, this is your issue. transplant into plain dirt, stop the additives. Choose a quality organic line and follow directions.
Next issues will be with your room controls-humidity, light, air flow/exchange/temperature, mold, etc. prepare now to avoid them

Probably cause I listen to too many lames on youtube vids etc instead of lookin here for good info first.. Ok I'm glad that's the only seedling I added that to.. Thanks for the heads up

If everybody remembered plants are nature not science they would be better off.

change ups in the grow room are always the first suspect.

I mean, it did start lookin that way prior to the calmag, but looking back on the convo that did sound pretty stupid! Hah

Looks more like a touch of nute burn to me than any kind of deficiency. New growth looks like the plant is adjusting to the soil so should be good now.

Dont beat yourself up. Im willing to bet everybody here has been guilty at some point of loving their girls too much. Thats how we learn. If you want to crash course problems. Cut an extra clone. Torture it. Let it root bind, water it with high ph, low ph, no nutes, and see what it looks like. Keep it in a small container so you're not out anything or vested in it any other way but knowledge. Youll see deficiencies, and proficiencies in action, and what it takes, and how much time to correct them.

FFOF is too hot for seedlings. This is why the company Light Warrior, which is the soil you're supposed to use for seedlings. LW has a lower fert content. You see how your plant has dark green leaves that are yellowing and dying? It's the soil; too hot for such a small plant. Not much you can do now but learn the lesson and try again.
