Is This A HERMAPHRODITE????

Looks like it's my unlucky night...Could someone please let me know if this is a Hermy?

I hope not cause its sitting right next door to my prized WW.

If it is a hermy is it to late, I mean has it opened its polen sac yet? Yesterday it was a ball like in the other pics Ive posted but it has hairs growing out of it, now it opened up into a flower like state. I have a few more of these balls elsewhere.

Or do females produce weird like flowers like this...prob not.

yep, and it's open. it looks like you may have been lucky enough for it to have been empty (i don't see any pollen, but it may still be there) or it could be sterile. the bright side is now you know what they look like.

If there aren't too many you might be able to pick 'em off, but be careful. I've had a few plants throw nanners for no reason, I picked 'em off and they didn't have any more problems.

What is an hermaphrodite?

An hermaphrodite, or hermie, is a plant of one sex that develops the sexual organs of the other sex. Most commonly, a flowering female plant will develop staminate flowers, though the reverse is also true. Primarily male hermaphrodites are not as well recognized only because few growers let their males reach a point of flowering where the pistillate would be expressed.

Hermaphrodites are generally viewed with disfavor. First, they will release pollen and ruin a sinsemelia crop, pollinating themselves and all of the other females in the room. Second, the resulting seeds are worthless, because hermaphrodite parents tend to pass on the tendency to their offspring.

Please note that occassionally specious staminate flowers will appear in the last days of flowering of a female plant. These do not drop pollen and their appearance is not considered evidence of deleterious hermaphroditism.

HERMIE for sure. Sorry about the bad news, dude! Get that puppy out of there. Good luck with the white widow, like the earlier poster said, you may not have gotten pollenated. What week of flowering is this?

It happens. Mostly from stress.

Always relax before you go into your garden and your plants will do much better.

I wouldn't actually mind a few killer fresh seeds of the combination.

If it's for your head, get some new genes and grow them I say.

I have removed it.

I touched the flower with a pencil and i watched it drop a load of pollen. So hopefully I caught it in time. I didn't see any of this pollen any where else and this was the only open flower.

Hey Serapis my temps dip to 70 at night and 87 during day cycle...is this too much of a difference and causing the stress? I ask cause this hermie was bag seed and I have read that they produce alot of hermies and males.

If you touched the flower with a pencil and it dropped a load of pollon the chances are you will have some seed in your weed. Do you have a fan of somesort on your grow space?

No fan, just an inline fan at the top of my grow box.

Keep a eye out for pistils dying off, this is the first sighn of pollination. Which more than likely happend.

Will do. It only had one flower on the entire plant and I didnt see any pollen anywhere(trust me...I went over it with a magnifying glass), until I touched it with the tip of a pencil. It dropped a very small amount. I hope it didnt do too much damage....
