Is there a big difference in Coco and Pro mix

Ive been really debating on if I should go pro mix or coco. While researching I found out you have to water coco everyday until runoff. So after doing some calculations with the nutrient feeding charts on fertilizer websites I realized that that shit can get exspensive with coco if you have to hand water to runoff everyday! So with that said i'm thinking pro mix is going to do it for me. Is there a big big difference in the two mediums? I know that coco is a better medium but Im want to know if it's a big marginal difference.

Coco is not better than pro mix. Depending on the strain and pot size u still could get 3-4 waterings a week in pro mix. Also there is a lot of people recirculating coco now. Doing it on 2 15 minute feeds a day on drip. So both mediums r great, just depends on your comfort zone.

i am running a soil / coco experiment right now. One tray soil, one tray coco. There is no difference in yield, height or root zone mass. The only difference i have noticed is that coco seems to stay moist longer. It just comes down to personal preference.

You don't have to waste fluid just because you use coir. You do have to feed every time so forget about R/O or distilled water only flushes. Coir is the greener option as it is a byproduct of the coconut/food industry.
