Is the 650r worth the price?

Im lighting up a 5x10 grow tent with a 4x8 flood and drain table in it. Was going to do 1000 watt hps. But now considering going the led route i didnt want to spend the money before but now i think i might want to. So i was on hlg website and see they have the 650r that just came out. The price is 1100 per fixture. The 550 is quite abit less money. Would i gain that much going with the 650r over the 550v2?

I would go with 2 of the 550's. The footprint of a single of either of those wont cover 4x8.
2 of their refurbished units would be reasonable

I plan on getting 2 of whichever fixture i decide just want to know if its worth the extra 250 300 dollars to get the newest light they got.

That light is stronger at 610w as opposed to the 550 at 480w. So that is part of what you are paying for. The timber redwood vs is higher in wattage but quite a bit cheaper than both. Just my 2 cents

Nice! I bought a board a few weeks ago from the reg website with the 10% forum discount. That should still be active as well

I'd highly recommend the HLG 600 diy kit. I know NOTHING about electronics and wired it up no problem. FAR cheaper price and pretty much the same wattage as the 650.

RIU10 discount code from HLG's site drops the price by 10%.
