is PVC "hot" cement safe??? (the blue smelly stuff)

if not, what's a safe substitute for gluing PVC and "pond-flex" tubing together?

Im pretty sure they have aquarium pvc glue and silicon thats safe to use with fish.

most pvc fits together so tight it does not need glue at all

I put in roofing screws so I could take them out when I needed to, the glue stays forever and cant be broken.
