Hello all, as far as i know i need to measure my temps as close to my cfl's as possible?

My 300watt CFL is connected to a "sunmate powerplant hood",my area is about 4.5 by 2 by 2 feet. I messure my temps about 2-3 inches from the CFL & they are just over 100f so i put a small fan on the CFL & got a extractor on top of box with air holes at the bottom so the temp drops to about 95. Now if i measure about 7 inches under or on top of the hood my temps are fine measuring about 75-85.

Am i measuring my temps to close to the cfl when getting temps over 100?

Thanks & enjoy the weekend.

Measure temp on the deck, that is, at the base of the plant. I like to not get much over 80 and in flower prefer low 70s.

Thanks for the reply man , when you say on the deck/base of plant, you mean at the bottom of the plant as in where it sprouts from the soil or at the bottom of the container the plants are in? hope that made sense ,lol.

cheers

Where it sprouts from the soil. But keep in mind I'm doing hydro so if there is some soil difference, I may be unaware of it. I doubt it though, temp is temp.
