Was it started from seed or clone? Is it an Auto? I would transplant it. I'd imagine it will take off nicely with more root room and some nutes.

I would transplant, and if they say "up to 40G" I would not expect to get that when growing in soil indoors. Most vendors are fairly generous with their yield estimates, not saying people cannot exceed them but I would not expect it. You may have a better chance reaching that number with Hydro or if you get pretty lucky on the genetics.
