Is it possible to overwater from a tray?

If the only way I water is from a tray at the bottom, can I over or underwater it, or is this the perfect way to make it just right?

water will wick up you dont need or want standing water. just like your roots need water, they need oxygen too.
 
Thanks, smoker. I guess i will continue to water based on the weight of the pot...I like watering from both the top and bottom. They are less than 1 week old right now.
