Is it okay if my tincture still smells a little like rum?

:dunce:I'm making tincture using the hot extraction recipe. It still smells a little like rum. Should I leave it in the hot water bath longer? And, when it says an eyedropper... How much would that be? I don't want to pass out, just feel good.

It still smells like rum because that's what it is :) Leaving the jars in hot water does not change the properties of the alcohol like cooking with it does. An eyedropper is usually 1mL I believe. I would just start with 1/2 teaspoon, wait 2 hours, then take another 1/2 teaspoon and see where that takes you. Dosing too much at once is not pleasant :(

Yes it tastes horrible by itself :) Many people add sugar extract flavorings to them, like watermelon. I personally just add 1 tsp to a drink and thats it.
