Heres A Few Pics Of My Babies! Just Wanted To Get Some Input On If These Are Ready To Be Cut Down? They're Going On Their 49th Day Of Flowering.

There is more to harvesting marijuana plants than just cutting them down. Before harvesting, the plants should be fed plain water only (no fertilizer) to remove any fertilizer that has built up in the plants themselves, and the hydroponic media or soil they were grown in. The optimal time to harvest marijuana plants is when THC production has reached its maximum. A rough guide as to when to harvest is to wait until 50%-80% of the white pistils (hairs) have turned dark (usually brown or red). But a better method of determining when to harvest is to wait until certain trichomes on the plant have matured.

you should wait untill all your fan leaves turn yellowish, your plant uses all the sugar and whatnot that is in the fan leaves so it will continue to grow until they have no nutrients in them.

they do look fine indeed!! They look very close to me, must be getting excited hey???

Hmm..what strain is it? Some strains finish sooner than most but I can tell you that most plants avg 60-70 days..other than that I guess looking at the trichomes would give you a fool proof answer.

thanks for all the replies everyone. yeah i know all about flushing them with plain water for the last 2 weeks to get rid of any built up fertilizers. they have already been flushed for 1 week so just 1 more to go. and i am noticing that they are still getting a little fatter each day so i'll probably let them go till the fan leaves start falling off like stonegrove said in his post. the strain is shiva jack(shiva skunk x jack herer) so its a mostly indica strain and thtas why i was thinking it might not need to go for 8 weeks, but it looks like 8 weeks is perfect!

Yep, lol I usually hate my plants at around this time. It's like I have two guys on my shoulder, one keeps telling me to chop them and one keeps telling me to let them live until they are ripe, but they look so ready n me needs a smoke!! Growing bud without bud sucks

exactly! i already cut 1 down just to have some smoke! but i still have 6 more that i will let go for another week so i'll be ok. i'd rather cut off a few buds and throw them in the microwave to get me by than pay another $120 for quarter!

Yeah I hear that. Biggest plant in my garden though is just about to come into week 5 so...I'm stuck on that one. Probably gonna end up buying some tomorrow (oh god no...). I haven't bought weed in a while..it's my fault though, I smoked up my last harvest like it was gonna last me forever lol.
