Is dehumidifier required or optional

I'm using a empty bedroom or empty closet for my grow. I did this before using cfl lights and plug in fans. I'd open the window and close it throughout the day. The grow turned out pretty good.

1. Are dehumidifiers and air vent systems the same thing?

2. Do I need to have a dehumidifier / air vent system for indoor grow in bedroom or closet?

Thanks I come here for help

1. No

2. You definitely need a method to introduce fresh air and exhaust stale air, usually an inline fan.
The need for a humidifier or dehumidifier depends on your local environment.

Skip the CFL lights

Depends where you live and your humidity there. I have 2 large plants in a closet with no more than a small fan for air exchange, but I do have a dehumidifier going outside the closet....I live in the Northeast where our average summer humidity is 70%+ though.

Alright thanks I read the replies
I will hang and dry the crop in the same spot I grew it (bedroom or closet).
Will I need to keep the dehumidifier and vent system on?

what area do you live in??

Or what's your humidity like in that room?

Big humidity swings are bad....Like if it's 20% RH one day and then 80% the next, that an invite for molds or powdery mildew.

Aim for less than 70°f and 70% humidity to dry them. Dehumidifiers heat the air so there’s that to consider.
