Is a 100% CFL grow possible?

Been reading "MJ Hort..." which has been very helpful. I have very limited space and electrical work to support both an HPS and MH light is not doable. However, I do have half day direct sun via a sky light into a bathroom. Can I grow a crop using 100% CFL and skylight or am I just wasting mt time and money by not buying the HPS and MH lights.

Book says I can but is light (NPI) on specifics. I'm already seeing some growth issues (Veg stage) but I guess that's to be expected.

Thanks:confused:

It's easily done, a lot of people prefer CFL's to HID lighting.

Check out my grow journal for some beginning CFL insight. Halfway done with vegging a mother right now.

Im gonna be doing a 100% CFL grow, i dont expect to get more than maybe 1-2 ounces (ill probably get less than that) its more of learning experience atm for me. Until i get the cash for a 400 watt HPS/MH

If i get my disability im getting a solar generator and a 1000 watt HPS and using the 400 MH for veging.

Definitely possible! For CFL's, the more you have, the happier and healthier your plant will be. Make sure to get the right Kelvin temperatures for the different stages of growth. Vegging is best done with 5500-6500k CFL's, whereas flowering is best under 2600-3500k bulbs (soft white).

dude if your growing indoors with limited space. clean your closet go to walmart buy 4 cfls and connecters to use one socket and one or two lamps. cfls are cheap cool and most of all cheap to run. 26watts cant beat that.

as folks are telling you, yes its quite possible. my first grow was one plant with a t8 shop light, modified to house 6-7 cfls. i got 1 oz of the BEST smoke ive ever had, i think that was more genetics for the potency. the point is its very possible. dont let people fool you though, cfls DO produce some heat. but with a less than 10 your probably not gonna run into any trouble. when you compare a 600 watt hps and 600 watts of clfs your heat is gonna be the same if not worse with the cfls, as the ballasts are all located right above the plants. my room actually stays cooler with 600 watt hps than 575 of cfls.

100% cfl growing can be done just fine. As of right now i have just started my grow journal and my first grow on limited space and cash and im running cfl's i started with normal light bulbs on a 24/0 light schedule, and over the past week and a few days i have now upgraded to 10 26w 6500k cfl's in equivalent to normal bulbs thats about 1000w i think its like day 10 or 11 i cant remember im stoned right now but i think they look really good and all i have are bag seeds i had a sack of about 300 seeds and just picked out some nice one and see where it goes.... heres a link to my journal if you want to see what cfl's do i try an do daily pics so u can really see how quick they take off with just a few cfl's ... Best of luck to yah :D.

PS: here are some pics 1st pic was day 1 in soil and next two pics are the same plant 7 days latter and i only had them under 4 26w cfls 6500k.
