Rectangles can work fine, but you have to plan accordingly. Often times, people pick a tent size and shape dependent on where they're putting it. In my case, 3x5 was what would fit in the room I needed the tent to be in.

To make the lighting happen, I have 3 lights that are evenly hung across the width.
