I have done this on numerous DIY lights, it works really well for evening up the corners and sides.

It lessens the hotspot area, so same area, but better spread.

This light lacks the heavier red 660nm in spectrum...... sure will flower OK, but there are many other choices.

I just think the main side bars being lights is a nice move others should do
