what would everyone recommend for an intake for a speaker grow box so it takes in air but doesnt let a lot of light out. i was thinking of cutting a hole in the back and putting a layer of panty hose over the hole to cover up some light i got the idea from someone on RIU but im sort of new so i forget who it was. anything would be helpful

cut your hole and make it look like a port to your speaker. build a light trap on the inside to block the light from going to the outside.

what do u mean light trap? how would i make that

google it. i have had to use my imagination to make one. as of now there is one good picture on here. do a threadsearch. a light trap is essentially a tube or directed portal for air to flow but not light since light can't bend but air can. so two 90 degree pipes in an "s" shape would do if you can suit that to your needs. you can do a series of walls also. light can reflect or bounce so beware black it all out.
