INTAKE/OUT with Light Control.. How? Please help

I have a 12' x 16" or so room with a window in it. 1000W MH and HPS bulb for growing. I picked up a cool tube and then ducted that into the attic, perfect... I want to board up the window with an a/c already there for summer. It will have two 6" holes in it with duct for intake/out but light will come done the duct right?

If I go lights out at night the plants will freeze. I can't get 12/12 unless I can solve this...

I had the same issue. i solved it by making 180 degree turns in the duct (flexible ducting) and the problem was solved.

Tommy where is a cheap place to get a fan that pumps through the duct? The ones at the hydro shop are expensive.... I have 400CFM on my light out the attic I think that's enough for out right now it sucks through the open end of the light. So I just need 200CFM for intake and then I will cap the area off to like 5 x 10...

Throw a good carbon filter in the mix to clean the air of smellls b4 it exits your house and you'll not have a thing to worry about. :blsmoke:

go to homer depot and buy 6" flexible and insulated ducting and put a dryer vent on the end. 26$ total us$

As to a filter any air from the room must be filtered unless you can get it above the roof line.

When using fans for cooling the best way is to have a cool source of air and PUSH the air don't pull. Why you ask...

if you have any small leaks when pulling the air you will get smell.

When you push the air all you get is some fresh air from the leaks.

Just something to think about

Peace :peace:

That was great info. I am forced to pull the air from outside but I will re-think it. Exhaust is out the top of the house and I will add a filter.

You guys rock thanks for the input. It isn't that this is all so expensive but buying the wrong stuff would suck.

Now my room is too cold at night. argh it drops to 59° at the plants. I am at 15" from the plants should I just move the light closer?, some heat still comes from it. Or should I get a space heater and humidifier on a thermostat? I can also just timer the input air I am sure it is the problem... What should I do?

Intake: I have a fan blowing in the window with it enclosed with board. This will be an inline 6" soon, just need to save some $.
Exhaust: 400CFM inline sucking through my cool tube and out of the attic, out a roof vent.
