Hey guys, I already set most of my stuff up but feel I am doing something wrong? I am working with a 12x12 room. I have a 1000 watt mh/hps with air cooled hood. I have a carbon filter on the intake side, then the fan, then the light. Is the fan supposed to blow air on the light or is it supposed to suck air FROM the light? Also this should be vented right outside right?? I am at a loss of how to get fresh air into the room...It is setup right now to suck through the filter then the air gets pushed through the light.....Please help I want to get started but I have questions I need answered so I know I dont do anything wrong.

You have the right idea. You want to have the air suck through the carbon filter, across the lights to cool down, then out the window where it shouldn't smell anymore. depending on how strong your exhaust fan is, it should be able to pull in enough fresh air unless your room is sealed off. It would be easiest just to have the door cracked or an osculating fan blowing more air and/or a window open somewhere else in the house.

It's a downstairs bedroom....If I open the window then light will shine through...I already sealed them off...I have exhaust duct hooked up to a dryer vent...I was thinkin drill another hole to outside but then what if it's arctic weather outside in mid winter? I dont really wanna suck in that cold ass air......oh and the exhaust fan I'm using is a can fan
